Is your mobile phone infected?
After Swine Flu fears seem to be abating, should we be worried about mobile phone viruses? Sometimes we get frustrated by the lack of standardization in mobile phones and their operating systems but perhaps we should really be thankful for a pluralist ecology of mobile telephony. At least according to leading network theorist Albert Laszlo Barabasi in an article published in Science magazine on Friday, this could be the only thing saving us from a potential catastrophic mobile virus attack: "A highly fragmented market share has effectively hindered outbreaks thus far".
