Interested in entering an international robotics competition? But don't know where to start?
You think licking batteries is fun, but you want to take it one stage further?
Sick of putting forks in toasters to learn about electricity?

Well do we have the meeting for you....

This meeting of the Irish Robotics team will consist of short introduction to robotics with a focus on forming teams and starting builds for entry into the Robotic Arena competition (Wroclaw, Poland - November 13th). The meeting will not be a formal workshop but an opportunity for members (free to all!) to familiarise themselves with the basic tools/ equipment for robotics, the most common microcontrollers, basic computer programming skills, basic robot mechanics, electronic soldering and more.  We will examine the robots built for the last competition the club entered in March (a line follower and mini sumo) and break them down into fundamental components which make them work (which are surprisingly not that complicated).

There is still plenty of time to build and test a robot for this competition, but the planning will have to be put in place over the next few weeks.
People are encouraged to start up a team to build a particular robot that is of interest to them or join a team already formed, with people of less experience teaming up with members with more.
