Resources

LIGHTWAVE is about exploring our ability to control light and its ability to control us. The science and technology behind a number the LIGHTWAVE exhibits illustrate a whole range of principles and practices.

We've provided a number of links below to some great projects.

Magnetic LED ‘Throwies'

These ‘throwies' are a great way to make a really simple circuit and can be used against any magnetic surface.

Light Dependant Resistor Project

Light dependant resistors are used on street lights. You can make this component tester and test an LDR.

Flashing LED Project

Another great project from The Electronics Club this takes building circuits a little further and introduces a timer chip.

Light Experiments

The Institute of Physics has produced a booklet of their ‘Physics on Stage 2' experiments. You'll find it via the Science on Stage link on their website http://www.iopireland.org/activity/education
